I don’t know what the deal is with Sept. 12. Maybe, after a national day of mourning and remembrance, we all feel the need to unwind with written art. Which sounds great to me.
Anyway, in addition to my own new story that turned up online yesterday, several of my friends published or announced stories or poems (or hybrids) online yesterday as well. So, as I do from time to time, I thought I’d share a long list of the awesomeness that has appeared in print in the last week or so:
- Jordan Blum has his story “Liverpugly” in FictionBrigade: A Collection of Flash Fiction.
- Hannah Pass published her story “Remedy” in Kenyon Review‘s online edition.
- Ethel Rohan published her story “I Love You!” in Hobart.
- Meg Tuite published her poem “Budget that Turns Kids’ Stomachs Into Airbags” in Eunoia Review. Also, Sententia Books has just announced that they’re publishing Meg’s story collection, Implosion, in 2013.
- Robert Vaughan, who apparently owns the Internet, posted his prose-poem “The Thief” at Fictionaut, published “Three Pieces of Toast” in Elimae, and published “There’s No Place Like Home” in Metazen.
- Whole Beast Rag, the literary and critical magazine for cool people (boring snobby scholars need not apply; cool scholars and smart people, however, are strongly encouraged to check it out!) is available online for free. Want to hold the issue in your hands or pass it out on street corners? You can buy copies, too.
- Lidia Yuknavitch‘s new novel, Dora: A Head Case, has been tearing up the lit world lately, so if you haven’t grabbed a copy yet, go shopping. I mention it because there’s a new review of the book up at The Lit Pub.
